The Government have introduced an incentive called the FIT Scheme. The scheme is to encourage people to reduce their carbon emmissions by using renewable energy. The Government will pay 43.3p per unit of electricity produced by solar panels. The cost of this incentive is being covered by an increase in energy prices to the consumer.
